Job summary

A construction firm based in Singapore is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to handle purchasing operations, vendor management, and inventory monitoring. Ideal candidates should possess 1-2 years of experience in the industry and qualifications such as GCE 'O' level or Diploma. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to communicate with site supervisors. The role is pivotal in ensuring orderly procurement practices and supporting the Procurement Manager.

Job description

Purchasing Assistant (Fresh Level)

Location: Ubi Avenue, East

  • Data entry and maintain proper records
  • In charge of purchasing electrical lighting component
  • Process purchase orders and compile quotations
  • Source for supplier and negotiate for best price
  • Liaise with site supervisors and internal suppliers
  • Matching PO/DO
  • Take charge of daily purchases and overseeing the receiving section and the main store.
  • Monitoring of statistical data on inventory status
  • Follow up on orders to expedite deliveries
  • Maintenance of purchase order files, invoices, and related purchasing records
  • Coordinates the preparation of purchase orders based on approved requisitions
  • Ensures the processing of appropriate communications with vendors regarding the ingredients requirement and quality issues
  • Ensures the verification of invoices against original orders to ascertain compliance with all the conditions of purchase prior to payment
  • Provide general administrative support to Procurement Manager
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • With 1–2 yrs relevant experience in construction industry prefers
  • With GCE ‘O’ level or Diploma qualification
  • PC literate, well organized and self-motivated
  • Able to source, select and manage vendor for both in Singapore and overseas purchase
  • Good interpersonal skills dealing with suppliers and vendor
  • We seek Mandarin-speaking candidates who are required to serve Mandarin-speaking site supervisor
