Job description

Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of science and mathematics publications, encompassing content creation, project coordination, budgeting, quality assurance, and market research. The Editor must adopt a strategic mindset to deliver high-quality educational materials that meet editorial standards and market expectations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Edit and proofread manuscripts and related content for clarity, accuracy, coherence, and alignment with editorial guidelines and product vision.
  • Ensure precision and effectiveness in the communication of all scientific and mathematical information.
  • Review author-submitted manuscripts, offering constructive feedback and guidance to improve content quality.
  • Work closely with authors to ensure alignment with the publication’s scope, academic standards, and target audience.
  • Collaborate with designers and layout teams to produce visually engaging content, including charts, diagrams, and layouts that support and enhance the material.
  • Manage publication projects from manuscript submission to final release, ensuring adherence to timelines and editorial workflows.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends in science and mathematics education and publishing.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies that target the appropriate readership, improve product visibility, and maximize outreach.
  • Support other editorial duties as assigned to contribute to departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in editorial work or teaching.
  • Familiarity with local education systems, curricula, and pedagogical approaches.
  • Understanding of publishing workflows and editorial standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
