Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of English language publications, encompassing content creation, project coordination, budgeting, quality assurance, and market research. The Editor must adopt a strategic mindset to deliver high-quality educational materials that meet editorial standards and market expectations.

Job Responsibilities

• Edit and proofread manuscripts and related content for clarity, grammatical accuracy, coherence, and alignment with editorial guidelines and product vision.

• Ensure precision and effectiveness in language use, tone, and style appropriate to the target audience and educational level.

• Review author-submitted manuscripts, providing constructive feedback and editorial guidance to enhance content quality and readability.

• Collaborate with authors to ensure alignment with the publication’s scope, language standards, and reader expectations.

• Work closely with designers and layout teams to produce visually appealing and well-structured content, including annotated texts, literary excerpts, and language exercises.

• Manage publication projects from manuscript submission to final release, ensuring adherence to timelines, editorial workflows, and quality benchmarks.

• Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource planning to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

• Conduct market research to stay updated on trends in English language education, curriculum developments, and publishing practices.

• Contribute to marketing strategies aimed at reaching educators, students, and institutions, increasing product visibility and engagement.

• Support additional editorial tasks as needed to help achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Education (English), or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in editorial work or English language teaching (Tutoring or Full time teacher)

• Familiarity with local education systems, English curricula, and pedagogical approaches.

• Understanding of publishing workflows, editorial processes, and style guides (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago).

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to support day-to-day editorial operations.
