Job description

Job Purpose

The Executive / Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Public Relations, is responsible for driving public awareness, media engagement, and stakeholder communications that align with SAVH’s mission of empowering and supporting the visually impaired community in Singapore. The role supports the planning and execution of communication campaigns, content development, media relations, and event publicity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Public & Media Relations

  • Draft and disseminate press releases, media advisories, and speeches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local media, partners, and relevant community organizations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate media coverage for key events, including interviews and site visits.

2. Communications & Content Creation

  • Develop and manage content for SAVH’s communication channels, including newsletters, brochures, social media, website, and internal publications.
  • Write human interest stories that spotlight SAVH’s beneficiaries, programs, volunteers, and partners.
  • Ensure all communication materials reflect SAVH’s branding, values, and tone.

3. Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Manage SAVH’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), including content creation, scheduling, and audience engagement.
  • Monitor and report on social media performance and public sentiment.
  • Keep the website updated with news, upcoming events, and donor acknowledgements.

4. Event Promotion & Support

  • Support the publicity and outreach for major events such as International White Cane Day, Flag Day, and other public education or fundraising campaigns.
  • Prepare event collateral, including emcee scripts, media kits, invitations, and signage.
  • Liaise with photographers, videographers, and design vendors where needed.

5. Stakeholder & Donor Communications

  • Assist in preparing communications for donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
  • Support preparation of grant proposals, thank-you letters, and impact reports in collaboration with other departments.

6. Internal Coordination & Reporting

  • Maintain a PR calendar and archive of media coverage, marketing materials, and photo/video assets.
  • Monitor PR and outreach KPIs and provide reports to management.
  • Collaborate with other SAVH teams to identify communications opportunities and align messaging.
