Job summary

The Ministry Of Social And Family Development is seeking dedicated professionals for a challenging social work position. You will conduct statutory investigations and implement interventions aimed at protecting vulnerable individuals, including victims of domestic violence. Ideal candidates will have a background in Social Work or related fields, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to working in fast-paced environments. This role requires 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends, focusing on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

• Background in Social Work or related field in Social Sciences (e.g., Psychology, Sociology).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage difficult and hostile clients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in the frontline.
• Committed to working with vulnerable populations.
• Proficiency in Chinese dialects, Malay, Tamil, or Hindi preferred.
• Prior experience in working with domestic violence victims, vulnerable adults, or children is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statutory social investigations and implement interventions.
• Identify and respond to allegations of abuse, neglect, and self-neglect.
• Manage cases involving domestic violence victims and vulnerable adults.
• Conduct home and agency visits while engaging with various persons involved.
• Work on developing reintegration plans and conducting periodic reviews.
• Respond on-site to high-risk cases and conduct safety assessments.
• Maintain a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
