Job description

The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the Properties Department, overseeing the facilities management of assigned SIA's owned or leased premises in Singapore. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from managing preventive and corrective maintenance to coordinating soft services, project management, internal works requisitions, facility booking, and more. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, service providers, and regulatory authorities to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all facilities under their care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team to ensure systematic, cost-effective, and responsive maintenance of building equipment, systems, and common services.
  • Oversee the operations of the Building Operations Centre (BOC), ensuring timely and professional handling of service requests, feedback, and complaints from occupants.
  • Manage and monitor Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) and other FM-related service contracts, ensuring performance in line with specifications, KPIs, and statutory compliance.
  • Strategically plan and manage energy and utility consumption to support the company’s sustainability and environmental targets as well as achieving the Green Mark and energy management goals.
  • Prepare, manage, and control operating and capital expenditure budgets, including forecasting, cost estimation, and tracking of project and maintenance spending.
  • Plan and manage improvement and retrofitting projects, overseeing the full project management lifecycle including feasibility, design, procurement, implementation, and handover.
  • Liaise with authorities, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on compliance with statutory requirements, licenses, inspections, and permits related to property and facilities.
  • Assist the Manager in conducting feasibility studies, site assessments, technical evaluations, and lifecycle costing to support FM strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage administrative functions relating to building and facilities operations including procurement, requisition processing, documentation, asset tracking, and service level monitoring.
  • Drive continuous improvement in FM service delivery, maintenance regimes, digitalisation efforts, and customer experience through proactive review and system enhancements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits on service providers to ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with building occupants and business units to meet operational needs, project schedules, and space requirements.
  • Keep abreast of latest technologies, best practices, and drive smart facilities management, energy optimisation, and digital building initiatives.
  • Lead the IFM team in emergency situations such as system failures, fire alarms, or business continuity events. Maintain and test emergency response plans.
  • Promote a strong workplace culture of safety, service excellence, environmental stewardship, and stakeholder engagement within the FM team.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Building, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with relevant internship or work experience in facilities management/engineering/building maintenance will be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of FM operations, building services, and systems such as MEP, ACMV, P&S, and Fire Protection.
  • Certification such as BCA GMAP(FM), SCEM, WEMP, or FSM are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to respond to urgent operational matters when needed.
  • Strong interest in building operations, facilities management, and sustainability practices.
