Job summary

WATG Singapore, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Urban Designer to lead master planning and urban design across Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, collaborating with architects, landscape architects, planners and clients on resorts, mixed‑use developments and large master plans.

You will manage site analysis, develop concepts, 2D diagrams, 3D massing and coordinate CGI/visualization to support design decisions and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or Architecture.
• 7–10+ years of relevant professional experience in urban design, architecture and/or landscape architecture.
• Strong experience in master planning, site planning and physical design.
• Knowledge of land use planning across residential, hospitality, retail, commercial and mixed-use environments.
• Proven ability to develop clear land use concepts and planning graphics.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Project Urban Designer

We are looking for a Project Urban Designer to join our team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across Asia, the Middle East and the Americas - from resort destinations and mixed‑use developments to residential communities and large‑scale master plans.

This is an opportunity for an experienced urban designer to work alongside architects, landscape architects, planners, consultants and other creative professionals, turning ideas into compelling physical environments.

What You'll Do

You will play an active role throughout the design process - from the first site analysis and big idea through to design development and project delivery.

You will:

• Develop creative master planning and urban design concepts across a range of project types, including resort destinations, mixed‑use developments, residential communities, infill developments and vision master plans.
• Conduct site analysis, research and planning studies to understand the opportunities and constraints of each place.
• Translate research and ideas into compelling land use plans, site plans, programmes, footprints and development concepts.
• Develop clear and engaging 2D diagrams, planning graphics and urban design presentations.
• Build and develop 3D base models and massing studies to explore design ideas and communicate spatial concepts.
• Coordinate CGI and visualization production to bring design ideas to life.
• Contribute to planning reports, design narratives, technical memoranda, design guidelines and other project deliverables.
• Work directly with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams, helping to communicate and develop design ideas throughout the project.
• Collaborate closely with senior leaders, including Project Directors, Senior Urban Designers, Senior Project Planners and Project Managers.
• Provide direction and support to other team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative studio environment.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can think both creatively and strategically - someone who can look at a site and see not just what is there, but what it could become.

You will ideally bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or Architecture.
• 7-10+ years of relevant professional experience in urban design, architecture and/or landscape architecture.
• Strong experience in master planning, site planning and physical design.
• Working knowledge of land use planning and development across residential, hospitality, retail, commercial and mixed‑use environments.
• Experience with development yields, building layouts, site programming and massing studies.
• Strong graphic communication skills, including plans, diagrams, presentations, document layout and ideally hand sketching and visualization.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Rhino, Enscape or other visualization/rendering software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS/GIS, Grasshopper, Ladybug and sustainability analysis tools is desirable.
• An interest in using emerging technologies and AI tools creatively to support the design process.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Professionalism, good judgement and a collaborative mindset.
• A relevant urban planning certification is an advantage.
