Job summary

Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Plan, manage, oversee, and be responsible for all aspects of health, safety, and environmental matters for the assigned project.
2. Manage the Safety Team to ensure all duties and responsibilities are discharged professionally and competently.
3. Ensure the stipulated number of personnel are on site throughout the contract duration, monitoring and proposing manpower deployment according to inspection trends and contractor’s programme.
4. Prepare and implement shift duty rosters, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Manpower regulations.
5. Attend all project-related meetings as directed by the Superintending Officer, including safety, environmental meetings, promotions, risk assessments, and campaigns.
6. Participate actively in site safety management and enforce main contractor's compliance with safety requirements.
7. Review main contractor’s proposed method statements, including risk assessments, work plans, SOPs, incident reports, and verify their proper execution on site.
8. Provide regular safety performance reports with analysis and assessments.
9. Monitor contractor’s safety performance, engaging proactively to improve site safety and safety management.
10. Ensure investigations into all accidents and near-misses are carried out and documented appropriately.
11. Liaise and coordinate with public authorities, agencies, and other consultants employed by the client.
12. Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years with a developer or main contractor.
• Minimum 5 years of WSH experience in deep excavation works.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of site safety personnel.
• Possess engineering, WSH disciplines, or related qualifications.
• Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and has practiced as a WSHO for at least 5 years.
• Obtained certificate in development of a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent.
• Obtained certificate in DfS appreciation course.
• Conversant with all procedures in the Workplace Safety & Health Manual.
