A leading construction company is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee all health and safety aspects for an assigned project. Job Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, oversee, and be responsible for all aspects of health, safety, and environmental matters for the assigned project.
- Manage the Safety Team to ensure all duties and responsibilities are discharged professionally and competently.
- Ensure the stipulated number of personnel are on site throughout the contract duration, monitoring and proposing manpower deployment according to inspection trends and contractor’s programme.
- Prepare and implement shift duty rosters, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Manpower regulations.
- Attend all project-related meetings as directed by the Superintending Officer, including safety, environmental meetings, promotions, risk assessments, and campaigns.
- Participate actively in site safety management and enforce main contractor's compliance with safety requirements.
- Review main contractor’s proposed method statements, including risk assessments, work plans, SOPs, incident reports, and verify their proper execution on site.
- Provide regular safety performance reports with analysis and assessments.
- Monitor contractor’s safety performance, engaging proactively to improve site safety and safety management.
- Ensure investigations into all accidents and near-misses are carried out and documented appropriately.
- Liaise and coordinate with public authorities, agencies, and other consultants employed by the client.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years with a developer or main contractor.
- Minimum 5 years of WSH experience in deep excavation works.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of site safety personnel.
- Possess engineering, WSH disciplines, or related qualifications.
- Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and has practiced as a WSHO for at least 5 years.
- Obtained certificate in development of a Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent.
- Obtained certificate in DfS appreciation course.
- Conversant with all procedures in the Workplace Safety & Health Manual.
