Job summary

Hitachi Energy Singapore is seeking a Project Manager in Singapore to lead transformer projects from handover to closure. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and service to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with safety and quality at the forefront.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or related) preferred.
  • Experience in project coordination, project management or related environments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Hands-on mindset with ownership and drive to completion.
  • PMP certification or other PM credentials advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Mandarin language capability highly regarded for regional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of allocated transformer projects, ensuring delivery per contract, schedule, budget, quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, managing priorities and stakeholders.
  • Act as primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle, building strong relationships.
  • Drive project planning, monitoring, reporting and risk management activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and commercial teams for successful delivery.
  • Coordinate milestones including FAT, shipments, installation, testing, commissioning and close-out.
  • Monitor financial performance, invoicing milestones and revenue recognition.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation plans.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead the execution of assigned transformer projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with contractual requirements, schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, managing priorities and ensuring seamless execution across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, building strong relationships and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Drive project planning, monitoring, reporting, and risk management activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, commercial, service, and customer teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate key project milestones including documentation approvals, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), shipment planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
  • Monitor project financial performance, invoicing milestones, customer payments, and revenue recognition plans.
  • Identify potential project risks and proactively implement mitigation plans.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders, providing regular project updates and escalating issues as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a collaborative team environment.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline preferred).
  • Experience in project coordination, project management, order execution, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or customer-facing project environments.
  • Experience managing multiple activities, stakeholders, or projects simultaneously would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on mindset with a willingness to take ownership and drive actions to completion.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • PMP certification or other project management certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or other project management tools would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in transformers, power systems, utilities, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Candidates with strong learning agility and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply.
  • Mandarin language capability will be highly regarded due to the need to communicate and collaborate with Mandarin-speaking customers and stakeholders in the region.
