About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical) to oversee the planning, managing and executing mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that all mechanical works, including Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) and Building Management System (BMS), are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in full compliance with contractual, regulatory and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, manpower loading, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with project clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Technical & Site Management
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design, standards, and safety regulations.
- Resolve technical issues on-site and provide engineering solutions promptly.
- Manage material requisition, procurement, and delivery planning.
- Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor project costs, variations, and progress claims.
- Prepare and submit technical proposals, shop drawings, and method statements.
- Ensure all works are executed within approved budgets and contractual conditions.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Lead progress meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely and accurate progress reports to management and clients.
- Maintain proper documentation for all project activities and changes.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure mechanical works follow local codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and rectify non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health (WSH) requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience (typically 5–10 years) in mechanical project management
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of and relevant experience in electrical and/or ACMV systems and equipment, with an understanding of industry standards and codes of practice
- Familiar with local codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in project management tools and MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/BIM is an advantage.
