Job description
Responsibilities:
Cover design aspects for systems such as Radars, Navigation Comms, Integrated Comms, Integrated Combat Systems, and Layout designs.
Work with other trades on integration design between Platform and Systems.
Prepare the General Arrangement Plan (GAP).
Prepare tender proposals and technical specifications for tender submission.
Establish Major Equipment Specifications and Selections.
Check and ensure equipment specifications, technical information, functional description documents, installation control documents, and interface design specifications are correct and properly maintained.
Plan and control Basic design document schedules to support project milestones.
Develop new designs and design concepts.
Source for new design tools.
Provide specialist technical assessments and analysis to other in-house departments and external parties.
Continue updating, developing, and expanding the design database.
Participate in tests and sea trials, including HAT and SAT, where required.
Perform detailed design calculations where necessary.
Follow up and resolve all design issues raised by Owner, Classification, and Statutory Authorities on all design documents promptly to support the schedule, including on-site checking and discussions.
Generate 2D arrangement drawings for major equipment.
Generate lists of design drawings/documents specific to each project.
Check working drawings and ensure that they conform to contractual technical specifications, installation control documents, and Classification and Statutory Rules/Regulations.
Keep abreast of current technological developments and products, Classification rules, military and industrial standards, and other standards relevant to design activities.
Requirements:
Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Marine-related projects on Navigation Communications Systems and Radars (Fire Control & Surveillance) will be advantageous.
Possess both project management and man management experience.
Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders is critical for this role.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Only Singaporeans will be considered for this role.
