Description

The International Centre of Aviation Innovation (ICAI) is set up to experiment and promote innovations on regional air navigational service concepts and to develop new solutions for smart and automated airports. ICAI’s role include managing technical projects that involve multiple aviation stakeholders such as international airlines, airport operators, airport regulators, university and government research centres, and industry partners.

We are offering a position for Project Manager (Airport) to suitable candidates who possess the following attributes and experience to manage technical projects.

Job Scope

a) Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with airport stakeholders to define problem statements and performance requirements.

  • Help organise and facilitate workshops to actively engage airport stakeholders to seek inputs and buy-ins on new airport innovations.

  • Maintain a routine to engage the relevant stakeholders on a regular basis via email, workshops and meetings.

  • Help prepare briefs to senior management, scientific advisory and governing councils, corporate delegates and to coordinate events to promote ICAI’s programs.

b) Grant Call, Evaluation and Administration

  • Solicit proposal from IHLs and RIs via open or closed grant calls.

  • Organise evaluation panels to review and award the proposals

  • Administer R&D grants to IHLs/RIs based on the terms and conditions as set by the funding agency.

  • Monitor and ensure the timely submissions of budget and reports from IHLs/RIs based on reporting cycles

  • Manage the verification and timely submission of claims.

  • Coordinate with Finance to prepare and support audits on projects.

  • Coordinate and prepare the submission of reports to funding agencies as required.

c) Project Management

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects projects including the design, development and conduct of experiments.

  • Report on progress and risks/issues/opportunities to senior management. Take remedial actions to mitigate deviations of actual project performance from approved plans.

  • Guide R&D performers to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on project status and budget utilisation.

  • Collate technical documentation and organise reviews with subject-matter-experts.

  • Guide and promote the filing of Intellectual Property on novel concepts that are developed.

a) Other Activities

  • Help prepare and submit proposals and purchase requests to seek endorsement from higher management on budget expenditures.

  • Conduct sourcing and evaluation activities as required by senior management to support ICAI’s programs.

  • Secretariat duties for ICAI Cadence and Board Meetings, as and when required.

  • Support duties as requested by senior management.

Experience:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in managing technical projects related to ICT systems, robotics and automation or airport technology operations.

  • Experience in managing stakeholders across multiple sectors, includinggovernment entities, universities, research institutes, commercial companies and international partners.

  • Experience in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts related to partnerships, research collaboration agreements, project agreements etc.

  • Experience in managing R&D projects with IHLs and RIs.

  • Familiar with System Engineering and System Management practices.

  • Experience in organising grant calls and administering grants would be a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering, science, computer science, industrial systems engineering.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
