Job description

Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project specification and clarifies with Commercial Team.
  • Develops Project Execution Plan (PEP) which includes project schedule and budgetary control.
  • Ensures project on schedule, meets the specification and within budget.
  • Leads internal and external communication meetings to ensure alignment.
  • Leads the Internal Kick-off Meeting to resolve all open issues and provides clarity to the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Liaises with D&E team on engineering and design issues.
  • Raises Technical Query Request (TQR) for design and engineering clarification prior to site execution.
  • Raises Clarification Request (CR) during site execution and liaises with Commercial Team to ensure that additional works are billed accordingly.
  • Plans the manpower requirement with Operation Manager.
  • Leads and manages the Project Team, including the overseeing of all day-to-day project activities and actively resolving any work issues and worker site conflicts.
  • Ensures that HSE rules and regulations are met.
  • Accesses and substantiates Sub-cons and vendors’ claim for progress payment.
  • Enforces materials and consumables control for projects.
  • Updates Progress report and submits to GM, OPS Manager and Clients.
  • Liaises with QA for site inspection activities.
  • Performs Ship Inspection and FAT of projects when required.
  • Communicates with Vendors on the products or services requirements.
  • Attends project meeting with Clients and resolves project issues.
  • Ensure that before and after completion, photos of the project are uploaded to the project folder.
  • Ensures final documentation handover including Customer Satisfaction Form.

Requirements :

  • Degree in an Engineering related field with at least 8 years' experience in ship design and engineering projects.
  • Experience in ship detail design such as Structural, Marine, Electrical, HVAC, and Piping.
  • Deep Knowledge and experience of Marine Vessel Detail and Production designs.
  • Familiar with design software, CAD/CAM, AI tools.
  • Familiarity with standards applicable to engineering disciplines and familiar with Marine Classification rules, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management Skills.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Possess supervisory experience to lead and manage a team of engineers from various trades being assigned to projects.
