Job description

Position Objective

Cognita is looking for a Project Manager to help with the implementation of a key strategic project in Singapore. The project encompasses multiple locations within our Singapore Campuses. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of specific sites within a strategic project time line. The ideal candidate leads via their own actions and behaviour, works well in teams and acts with transparency and honesty.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution

  • To be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of defined components of the wider strategic project.
  • T develop plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timelines.
  • Design Brief formulation and oversight - to oversee and work with consultants and stakeholders to develop plans that deliver the required outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project goals are met.
  • Engage with project delivery team and relevant stakeholders (Asia Regional office, in country support teams and schools)

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with different departments within the Asia Regional office and with schools to gather requirements, align on project objectives and ensure successful project execution
  • Maintain and build effective communication channels with stakeholders to manage expectations and address concerns.

Risk and resource Management

  • Proactively identify project risks and challenges related to project execution.
  • Develop mitigation measures to manage risks, escalate and communicate risks and mitigations on a timely basis

Reporting and Documentation

  • Generate regular project status reports, including KPIs and/or other metrics.
  • Review of project documentation
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and any other necessary documentation in support of project delivery.

  • Willingness to get involved in a diverse range of challenges and tasks related to project delivery.
  • Pro-active problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle challenges with high resilience.
  • Takes initiative in executing tasks and assume full ownership of deliverables, ensuring timely and quality outcomes.
  • Understanding of local codes and regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools – e.g, Project Management Life Cycle, MS projects, gantt chart, etc.
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge
  • Excellent Organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills - ability to operate in a matrix organization and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of the design process and demonstrable experience in working with design teams from inception of design drawings to delivery / handover for occupation and use.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English (written, oral, presentation)
  • Commercial awareness
  • High resilience with a Can Do attitude

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years work experience
  • Experience in construction / development project delivery is essential.
  • Experience with K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and/or other education companies is beneficial.
  • Project Management certification is preferred however experience, versatility and a can do attitude is more important.
