Construction Project Manager (Building Projects)
Primary Roles:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing overall project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of building construction projects in Singapore. This role oversees project budgets, schedules, resources, subcontractors, safety compliance, and quality standards to ensure successful completion that meets contract requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1️⃣ Project Planning & Execution
- Develop full-scale project plans including budgets, manpower allocation, resource planning, and construction schedules.
- Lead the planning and execution of building projects from commencement to handover.
- Strategically forecast potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
2️⃣ Contract & Cost Management
- Review tender documents, contract specifications, drawings, and authority requirements.
- Monitor project expenditure, cost control, VO claims, payment certificates and final accounts.
- Liaise with quantity surveyors, clients, and subcontractors on contract matters.
3️⃣ Site & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and government agencies.
- Conduct regular site progress meetings and prepare progress reports.
- Ensure timely resolution of site issues and technical challenges.
4️⃣ Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with BCA, SCDF, MOM, and relevant authority regulations.
- Enforce workplace safety, environmental policies, and quality management standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and contractual standards.
5️⃣ Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise project teams, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Establish a collaborative site culture with strong accountability and communication.
- Drive performance, productivity, and discipline of site workforce.
6️⃣ Project Handover & Documentation
- Manage project closure, testing and commissioning, defects rectification, and final handover.
- Ensure all documentation, as-built drawings, certifications, and warranties are completed accurately.
- Conduct after-handover support and defect management until closure.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience in building construction projects in Singapore.
- Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Proven track record in managing full-cycle building projects (commercial, residential or industrial).
- Strong knowledge of Singapore construction regulations, codes, and statutory submissions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage timelines, and deliver results.
