Project Operations Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the technical lead for all engineering activities within assignments. You will ensure that all engineering disciplines' activities are executed efficiently and cost-effectively. You will also serve as a design authority for a specific engineering discipline and complete related assignments.

The work model for this role is: Hybrid. This position contributes to the Process Automation Marine and Ports Division of ABB, Singapore. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring automation and control solutions engineering and commissioning are performed efficiently and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to identify and resolve engineering issues.
  • Coaching project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, including modeling, prototyping, and calculations.
  • Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams across all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced).
  • Applying design thinking and excellence concepts, including modeling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
  • Providing technical inputs to the sales team and reviewing technical proposals based on customer specifications.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in designing and engineering automation systems for Marine and Offshore projects.
  • Knowledge of ABB PLC series, 800XA System, communication standards & protocols, software revision tracking tools, OPC, and networking.
  • Experience with commissioning Power and Energy Management Systems (PEMS), ESS Solutions, IAS, RCS, and EPPS is preferred.
  • Degree or Master's in relevant Engineering discipline with at least 6 years of experience.
  • Understanding of Marine Systems, classification society requirements, and troubleshooting is desirable.
  • Strong customer focus and collaborative skills.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
