Job summary

FAR EAST GROUP LIMITED is seeking a motivated Refrigeration Design / Project Engineer to support refrigeration and cold room projects in Singapore. You will design refrigeration systems, select equipment, and prepare technical drawings while coordinating with production, R&D and customers.

The role offers exposure to green refrigeration solutions including CO2 technology and opportunities to develop skills in heat load calculations, rack design, and project execution.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical/electrical or refrigeration field
• Experience in HVAC&R or project engineering is an advantage; entry level considered
• Familiar with heat load calculation and technical drawings

Responsibilities

• Perform heat load calculations and cold room/refrigeration system design
• Select refrigeration equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators and controls
• Prepare technical documentation, equipment schedules and design reports
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D refrigeration rack drawings and P&ID
• Coordinate with Production and R&D on rack fabrication, piping, control panels, evaporators and heat exchangers
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, consultants and contractors on technical and project requirements
• Support BOM/material planning, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Attend customer meetings and site visits when required
• Provide technical support to regional dealers, distributors and subsidiaries

About the role:

We are looking for a motivated and willing-to-learn Refrigeration Design / Project Engineer to support our refrigeration and cold room projects.

This role is mainly focused on refrigeration system design, equipment selection, technical documentation, and coordination with internal teams to support project execution. The successful candidate will be involved in heat load calculation, cold room design, preparation of technical drawings, and coordination with production and R&D teams.

This is a good opportunity for candidates who are keen to develop their career in refrigeration engineering and gain exposure to modern green refrigeration solutions, including the latest CO₂ system technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform heat load calculations and cold room/refrigeration system design.

• Select refrigeration equipment such as compressors, condensing units, evaporators and controls.

• Prepare technical documentation, equipment schedules and design reports.

• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D refrigeration rack drawings and P&ID.

• Coordinate with Production and R&D on rack fabrication, piping, control panels, evaporators and heat exchangers.

Requirement

• Min. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning, or related field.

• Experience in HVAC&R, refrigeration, cold room, or project engineering work is an advantage, while entry level role is also available.

• Basic knowledge of heat load calculation, equipment selection, and technical drawing preparation.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Solidworks experience is required.

• Able to understand and prepare technical drawings and P&ID.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Willing to learn and grow in refrigeration system design and project engineering.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willing to attend customer meetings or site visits when required.
