Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Project Engineer / Site Engineer to support the Site Agent in monitoring site progress, safety, quality and environmental controls on construction projects in Singapore.

You will review master programmes, supervise engineers and foremen, inspect works by subcontractors, coordinate with consultants and vendors, and ensure timely delivery within project schedule and cost targets. Strong communication and drawing interpretation are essential.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project/ Site Engineer on construction sites in Singapore or Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and able to read construction drawings.
• Skilled with AutoCAD and MS Office; good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review the master construction programme and prepare catch-up programmes where necessary.
• Supervise Engineers and Foremen to ensure compliance with quality procedures and workmanship standards.
• Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of works carried out by subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed work programmes for the site team and ensure works are completed within the required timeframe.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and technical difficulties with the Technical Team.
• Prepare detailed method statements and work instructions for construction activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and internal departments to meet project schedules.
• Liaise with Consultants on submissions related to structural works and coordinate with the Technical Department.
• Plan and coordinate all site activities including work programmes and construction methods.
• Forecast equipment, material and manpower requirements and monitor usage to minimise wastage and cost.
• Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety practices and procedures.
• Provide technical expertise in foundation, structural and building works.
• Possess knowledge of construction method statements.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience as a Project Engineer / Site Engineer in the construction industry in Singapore or Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to work with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PDF, and other relevant software.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Good written and spoken English.
