Job Description: Site Engineer
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction activities on site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires close coordination with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site workers.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Operations & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Monitor site progress and ensure construction activities are completed according to schedule.
Technical & Engineering Coordination:
- Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
- Identify and resolve technical issues arising during construction.
- Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders on technical matters.
Project Progress & Quality Control:
- Monitor project progress and report any delays or issues to the Project Manager.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets the required quality standards.
- Ensure construction works comply with relevant codes, regulations, and project specifications.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all site activities comply with workplace safety requirements and relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report and follow up on any safety or site-related issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare daily site reports, progress reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, materials, manpower, and project progress.
- Assist with project meetings and provide updates on site progress and technical matters.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicate project requirements and follow up on outstanding site matters.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Good knowledge of construction processes, site operations, and engineering practices.
- Able to read and understand construction drawings and technical documents.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and handle a fast-paced construction site environment.
- Candidates who are proficient in both English and Chinese are preferred.
- Experience in Singapore construction projects will be an added advantage.
