Project Engineer (MEP)

As a Project Engineer (MEP) at DB&B, you will act as a key technical advisor, overseeing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services for commercial interior fit-out projects. You will collaborate closely with designers, contractors, and clients to ensure MEP systems are integrated seamlessly into high-end commercial interior environments. To succeed in this role, you must have strong technical knowledge, project management skills, effective leadership and the ability to provide expertise and advisory support. Project Management

• Assist in managing MEP projects, including contributing to planning, value engineering, and tender preparation processes.
• Develop, review, and assist in finalizing MEP project plans, specifications, and designs, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Coordinate and supervise MEP installations on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project timelines.
• Collaborate in creating detailed MEP work schedules and coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Manage day-to-day project implementation, including coordinating stakeholders, schedules, budgets, and contractors' performance.
• Ensure proper documentation management and report on MEP project progress to senior management.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.

• Quality Assurance and Control
• Support the implementation of MEP systems in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or discrepancies in MEP systems to ensure defined performance and quality standards are met.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of MEP systems.

Budget and Cost Management

• Assist in developing and managing the MEP budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
• Monitor project expenditures and provide detailed financial updates to management, recommending adjustments where necessary.
• Support procurement teams by evaluating and reviewing MEP material and equipment specifications for cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Review and validate MEP design drawings, calculations, and BOQs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.

Training & Communication

• Assist in providing feedback to internal stakeholders, site teams, and contractors on MEP systems and processes.
• Foster effective communication between project teams, consultants, contractors and vendors to ensure the timely and efficient completion of tasks.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Assist in evaluating, selecting, and managing MEP subcontractors and vendors.
• Support contract negotiations and manage communications with MEP service providers, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
• Monitor the performance of subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is completed to specifications and deadlines.
• Ensure updated documentation, including as-built drawings, and O&M manuals are handed over to relevant stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure MEP systems are designed and implemented in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Prepare and submit documentation to regulatory authorities, ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
• Ensure adherence to local building codes, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
