Job description

Overview

Planning and Design of Electrical engineering works for building services projects to deliver buildable design within a timely manner, and economical service to meet client’s requirement. Incumbent must influence across services without formal authority and manage the success of projects.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical services such as sub-station, small power, lighting, security system, data cabling, public address system etc.
• Presentation of design concept report to client.
• Preparation of M&E cost estimate base on approved design scheme.
• Preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.
• Co-ordination of M&E services within the office.
• Reviewing of shop drawings, material submissions and handle RFIs.
• Verification of Work Progress and Variation Order for progress claim.
• Liaise with main contractor, architect, authorities to ensure technical compliance and timely completion of project.
• Carry out site investigation survey and submitting of technical reports.
• Project Management from pre-development through to completion, including the following:
  • Site Assessment and Inspection
  • Design development and co-ordination
  • Attend site meetings, technical meetings etc to resolve technical issues
  • Following up with authorities on submissions, inspection and issuance of certification

Prerequisites

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience in design in an engineering consultancy firm for degree holder. Candidates with professional engineer registration would be considered for senior position.
• Experience in handling full cycle of building service projects and proven track record with strong background in Electrical Design.
• Good understanding of Singapore Code of Practice and authority submission process.
• Confident and have strong presentation & communication skills
• Able to work independently as well as in a team setting
