DESIGNATION : Project Engineer and Drafter

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer and Drafter to support project execution from planning to completion, with a strong focus on technical drawing and documentation. The role involves assisting the Project Manager in coordinating site activities, preparing accurate shop and as-built drawings using AutoCAD or similar software, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. The ideal candidate should have a background in civil engineering, solid drafting skills, and experience in construction, particularly in underground utilities.

Job Description

  • Assist the Project Manager with daily project activities, including coordination, scheduling, planning, and implementation of work.
  • Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring project activities in line with project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and clear drawings including shop drawings, as-built drawings, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
  • Revise drawings as required, based on project requirements, site conditions, or feedback from the project team and consultants.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors to ensure that all drawings, especially as-built drawings, comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities are carried out in compliance with approved designs, contract specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions when deviations from the project scope, schedule, or quality occur.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication of project progress, specifications, and any challenges.
  • Review project proposals and plans to align project objectives with management expectations, ensuring performance criteria and client needs are clearly understood and incorporated.
  • Oversee project timelines and milestones, proposing adjustments and modifications to the schedule as needed to ensure timely delivery.
  • Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively address concerns, resolve technical issues, and ensure alignment among all parties involved.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including progress reports, monthly reports, and other key project documents.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the immediate superior or Head of Department.


QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Singapore Professional Engineers Board (PEB)
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in construction or civil engineering
  • Experience in underground utilities (e.g., cable pipes or similar site works) is advantageous
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software
  • Strong skills in project coordination and site supervision with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and consultants
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driving license is an advantage (to support site mobility)
