A leading company in optics seeks a Project Engineer to manage new product introductions and ensure project timelines and specifications are met. Brief Summary:
As a Project Engineer within our Product Management team, you'll manage new product introduction of optical components and assemblies and handle the generation of quotations. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams - including Sales, engineers, procurement and QA to ensure technical specifications and timelines are consistently met.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Manage projects related to new product introduction which covers both build to print and customised parts
Monitor the status of first article orders/projects, analysing potential risks and issues that may impact delivery schedules, and implement appropriate countermeasures to mitigate them.
Organize new requirements into actionable tasks for team members, ensuring clarity and accountability.
Develop, maintain, and generate performance reports detailing project status, risks, and achievements for internal distribution and review.
Foster collaboration and communication between the Sales team, customers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective follow-up actions and closure of projects.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures
Conduct data analysis, including the development of dashboards and reports with the business intelligence tools and recommend corrective measures for any identified discrepancies.
Secondary Responsibilities
Support Request for Quotes (RFQs) process which includes developing accurate, timely, and competitive quotations in response to Sales’ inquiries.
Perform root cause analysis of data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
Facilitate site visits for customers and prepare presentations
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the management team to support the overall goals and objectives of the Product Management department.
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Data science or related discipline.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Minimum 3 years of experience manufacturing environment. Preferably in new product introduction, inside sales, quotation support or order processing
Detail-oriented, responsive, and customer-centric.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in MS Office required and SAP required
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI and SQL) is advantageous
Knowledge in optics advantageous.
