Project Engineer
Job Summary
The Project Engineer provides technical and project support by preparing drawings, tracking defects, coordinating with Project Managers and professional engineers (LP & LEW), and ensuring safety and compliance documentation is maintained. This role bridges design and project execution, ensuring efficient, accurate, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Documentation
- Prepare and update technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation using CAD or relevant software.
- Review designs for constructability and compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and design-related communications.
Defect Management
- Collate, record, and track defects or non-conformances identified on site or during inspections.
- Coordinate corrective actions with site teams, contractors, and Project Managers.
- Ensure defect reports are updated, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in analyzing recurring issues and proposing preventive measures.
Project Coordination & Execution Support
- Support Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project activities.
- Coordinate with professional engineers (LP & LEW), contractors, and site teams to ensure design alignment and timely execution.
- Assist in monitoring materials, orders, and deliveries to support project schedules.
Safety & Compliance Support
- Prepare and maintain project safety documentation, including risk assessments and compliance records.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards during project execution.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to Project Managers on design progress, defects, safety compliance, and project issues.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams, contractors, and external consultants.
- Highlight potential risks, schedule delays, or technical issues and propose solutions.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
- 2–5 years of experience in design engineering with exposure to project execution or site coordination.
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of safety compliance, engineering documentation standards, and construction practices.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with PMs, LP, LEW, contractors, and teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of problem-solving.
