A leading consulting firm in Singapore is seeking a Project Engineer with expertise in power plants. This role involves liaising with contractors, supporting project managers in various capacities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering along with five or more years of related experience, with language proficiency in Mandarin as a key requirement.
The Project Engineer’s key responsibilities are:
Liaison with power plant EPC contractors and coordinate pre-bid as well as post award detailed engineering activities.
Assist project manager in developing regulatory/permitting plan, support authority’s pre-consultations (FS/FEED stage) and permitting activities (EPC stage).
Assist project manager with the project scheduling / planning, forecasting and resourcing planning activities.
Assist project manager / engineering manager to manage technical deliverables quality and progress.
Assist project manager to prepare and follow up on progress claims and contract management.
Support cost estimations efforts including obtaining vendor quotes.
Support mechanical (or civil/structure) technical specifications development.
Contribute to technical design / deliverables.
Participate in project reviews and take ownership of project close out.
Support business development activities including writing proposals.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Supervise site surveys, field studies and reviews as required in full compliance with safety protocols and guidelines.
Participate in constructability reviews, assist with documentation.
Support development of Precommissioning/Commissioning plans.
Assist Construction Manager as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The person in this position currently shall not have supervisory responsibility. However, depending upon individual interests, strengths and organizational needs, supervisory role shall be offered, if desired.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (either Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structure).
A minimum of five (5) years of related experience preferably for CCGT/GTG power plant projects.
To be able to communicate technical terms effectively in mandarin.
Flexible to support other New Energies projects as well (on need basis).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of MS PROJECT / Primavera Project Management (P6) is preferred.
Team player, keen to learn and contribute.
