A leading company in the vertical transportation industry is hiring a Project Manager in Singapore. The successful candidate will oversee project management processes from initiation through to handover while ensuring compliance with company standards and statutory regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project costs and timelines, demonstrating leadership in safety and efficiency throughout all stages of project delivery.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Follow the Project Management Process from award until handover, including all statutory requirements and deliverables.
  2. Develop comprehensive project plans for multiple projects.
  3. Review project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and resource allocation to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  4. Coordinate and participate in pre- and post-tender surveys for SED/ordering and pre-construction surveys on existing buildings (applicable to MOD projects only).
  5. Sell variation orders timely to meet financial objectives.
  6. Provide regular project management reports during Work in Progress (WIP) reviews.
  7. Direct and coordinate activities of the project team, including attending site meetings, participating in all internal and external inspections, project handovers for public use with no critical defects, and ordering spare parts via the spare parts finder database.
  8. Attend monthly WIP meetings with the Commercial and EI Finance Controller.
  9. Coordinate daily activities and resolve technical problems internally with the factory, Sales Engineering Department, Drawing Office, and externally with suppliers and contractors.
  10. Manage costs and proactively address potential cost overruns and project delays.
  11. Ensure compliance with Schindler Organizational Norms, policies, procedures, and quality requirements as per the Top Range Excellence / Fulfilment Plus process.
  12. Sign off on major projects as defined in ON 17100, executing all contractual terms to protect Schindler's financial interests.
  13. Demonstrate safety leadership through periodic safety walks, quality walks, and safety inspections.
  14. Ensure employee and subcontractor safety compliance at project sites and conduct regular safety walks.
