Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a senior Project Manager specializing in railway communication projects. The role involves overseeing project delivery, managing cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications, coupled with extensive experience in managing large-scale projects within the urban rail sector. This is a critical position aimed at delivering high-quality communication solutions while adhering to budgetary and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing large-scale railway communication projects, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep working knowledge of railway communication systems and technologies, particularly in the context of urban rail networks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of railway communication solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, managing expectations and providing updates.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks effectively.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and resource allocation.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to verify compliance with specifications and ensure safety.

Education

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership: - Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of railway communication solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. - Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

- Participate in pre-sales activities.

2. Technical Expertise: - Provide project management, technical leadership and guidance on railway communication systems, including but not limited to train-to-ground communication, CCTV, public address systems, PABX, Information Display Systems, and fibre-optic networks. - Ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

3. Stakeholder Management: - Act as the primary point of contact, and other key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

- Manage stakeholder expectations, address concerns, and provide regular project updates and reports.

4. Risk Management: - Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to minimize disruptions and ensure successful project outcomes. - Develop contingency plans and lead crisis management efforts as needed.

5. Budget and Resource Management: - Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets. - Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.

6. Quality Assurance: - Implement and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of communication systems. - Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and standards. - Ensure all safety requirements are met when carrying out the projects.
