Position: Project Director
Report to: VP, Project Management
Location: Singapore

Purpose
We are partnering with a leading integrated resort and hospitality organization to appoint a Director, Projects to oversee and manage the successful execution of large-scale infrastructure and construction initiatives. This senior leadership role will take ownership of project planning, team management, stakeholder communication, and end-to-end project delivery in support of the organization’s strategic expansion.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong commercial acumen, technical expertise in construction delivery, and excellent leadership skills to drive results across multiple stakeholders and contractors while ensuring adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

1. Establish overall project execution frameworks, including objectives, scopes, budgets, and timelines.
2. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project milestones and delivery schedules.
3. Identify and assess potential risks and implement strategies to manage them effectively.
4. Define key success indicators and implement mechanisms for tracking progress.

Team Leadership & Resource Oversight

1. Lead cross-functional teams comprising engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and appointed consultants.
2. Delegate responsibilities and manage resources to meet project requirements.
3. Provide coaching and direction to team members, fostering a results-oriented and safety-first culture.

Budget Control & Commercial Management

1. Manage full project budgets, ensuring fiscal discipline and alignment with overall business objectives.
2. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and manage variations across contracts.
3. Drive negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.

Stakeholder Engagement

1. Act as the main liaison for all project-related communication with consultants, contractors, and internal leaders.
2. Provide timely project status updates, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation actions.
3. Mediate and resolve disputes or challenges that arise during project execution.

Compliance & Safety Oversight

1. Ensure strict compliance with statutory regulations, building codes, and internal governance requirements.
2. Implement robust on-site safety practices and conduct regular inspections to mitigate hazards.
3. Lead regulatory interactions and ensure all legal obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance & Project Handover

1. Supervise construction quality to ensure alignment with approved designs and specifications.
2. Conduct ongoing audits, inspections, and quality reviews to maintain project standards.
3. Oversee completion, final inspections, handover, and documentation for smooth project closure.

Key Requirements

1. A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. At least 15 years of project management experience, including 5 years in a leadership capacity managing major construction or development projects.
3. Proven ability to deliver complex, high-value projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
4. Strong grasp of construction processes, materials, regulations, and site operations.
5. Familiarity with project management platforms such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
7. Financially astute with experience in cost control, vendor negotiation, and contract administration.
8. Demonstrated capacity to manage risks and solve problems in dynamic environments.
9. High integrity, strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach to managing teams and external partners.
