A leading HR advisory firm is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to estimate construction costs, manage project budgets, and handle procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract negotiation and financial analysis in the construction industry. This role is based in Singapore and offers competitive salary between SGD 2800–3500.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor

Salary: $2800- $3500

Location: Kranji

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am–5:30pm) and Saturday half day (8:30am-12:30pm)

Working Days: 5.5 Days

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for estimating the costs of construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses
  2. Develop and manage project budgets, help clients and stakeholders understand the financial implication of their construction projects.
  3. Assist in procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating constrictor bids, and negotiating contracts with supplier and contractors.
  4. Administer construction contracts, ensure that both parties (Client and Contractor) adhere to the terms and conditions outlines in the contract. This includes managing variations, claims, and disputes.
  5. Seek cost-effective solutions by identifying value engineering opportunities that maintain or enhance project quality while reducing costs.
  6. Monitor and control project costs throughout lifecycles, tracking expenses, forecasting future costs, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  7. Assess and manage risks related to project costs, schedule delays, and other potentials issues.
  8. Prepare regular reports on project costs, providing clients and stakeholders with updates on budget status and financial performance.
  9. At the end of the project, compare actual costs against the budgeted amounts and ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
  10. Oversees quality control processes to ensure that the project meets specified quality standards and timeline.
  11. Assist in handling claims and disputes that may arise during the construction process, helping to resolve issues between parties and ensuring fair compensation.
  12. Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the superior.
