Job summary

FERMAX ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. is seeking a Security System Engineer to translate tender specs into compliant ELV and security designs. You will produce layouts, schematics, and technical submissions for handover to the implementation team.

The role emphasizes engineering and design, with emphasis on system integration, CAD coordination, and interface with consultants and suppliers to ensure compliant, approved configurations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Experience in ELV/security system design and engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge in ELV system design and schematic preparation.
• Able to interpret tender specifications and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and system integration is an advantage.
• Familiar with BIM/Revit is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Study tender specifications, drawings, and design briefs.
• Develop ELV system designs for CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, Carpark, Public Address, Smart Home, Hearing Enhancement and other ELV systems.
• Prepare system architecture and technical design proposals.
• Determine equipment locations and system layouts based on project requirements and compliance standards.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and relevant standards.
• Review and update CAD drawings.
• Prepare and revise system layout plans, schematic drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, equipment layout drawings, and integration schematics.
• Coordinate integration requirements with third-party systems.
• Prepare catalogue submissions and technical compliance documents.
• Review product specifications and ensure compliance with tender requirements.
• Follow through technical submissions until consultant/client approval is obtained.
• Ensure approved materials and system configurations tally with awarded Purchase Orders and contract requirements.
• Coordinate technical clarifications with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ensure all approved drawings, submissions, and technical documents are properly organized before project handover.
• Conduct technical handover to the project implementation team upon completion of design and approval stage.
• Provide technical support and clarification to project teams where required.

Job Summary

The Security System Engineer is responsible for the technical design and engineering coordination of ELV and security systems during the pre-implementation stage of projects.

The role focuses on translating tender specifications, consultant requirements, and design briefs into compliant system designs, layout drawings, schematics, technical calculations, and approved submissions before handover to the project implementation team.

This role is primarily engineering and design-focused and is not responsible for day-to-day site coordination, procurement, or project execution activities.

System Design & Engineering

• Study tender specifications, drawings, and design briefs.
• Develop ELV system designs for CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, Carpark, Public Address, Smart Home, Hearing Enhancement and other ELV systems.
• Prepare system architecture and technical design proposals.
• Determine equipment locations and system layouts based on project requirements and compliance standards.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and relevant standards.

Drawing & CAD Coordination

• Review and update CAD drawings prepared by drafters.
• Prepare and revise system layout plans, schematic drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, equipment layout drawings, and integration schematics.
• Coordinate with drafters to ensure drawings are updated accurately and promptly.
• Maintain drawing revisions and submission records.

Technical Calculations & Integration

• Perform engineering calculations including UPS sizing, PoE loading calculations, heat load calculations, storage calculations, network bandwidth calculations, and power consumption calculations.
• Prepare BMS integration points schedules and interface requirements.
• Coordinate integration requirements with third-party systems such as lift systems, BMS, fire alarm systems, visitor management systems, and smart home platforms.

Technical Submission & Compliance

• Prepare catalogue submissions and technical compliance documents.
• Review product specifications and ensure compliance with tender requirements.
• Follow through technical submissions until consultant/client approval is obtained.
• Ensure approved materials and system configurations tally with awarded Purchase Orders and contract requirements.
