Job summary

SOITEC in Singapore seeks a Project Lead for mechanical and electrical facilities management in a state-of-the-art semiconductor cleanroom. Responsibilities

• Lead project management to ensure timely delivery, quality, safety, and SOITEC compliance for utilities and facilities.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of cleanroom and mechanical systems (Chillers, HVAC, CDA, Process Vacuum).
• Coordinate with contractors, system owners, and production to minimize downtime and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Lead cleanroom certification processes (ISO 4 to ISO 6/7) and manage air balancing and laminar flow.
• Develop energy-saving strategies for new installations and manage documentation ( drawings, BIM, submittals).
• Oversee expansion projects and punch list/defect closure activities.

Job description

What does the job consist?

Responsibilities:

Project Lead:

• Project Management to ensure delivery of utilities will be completed on time, and complied on quality, safety, and SOITEC requirements. Manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of primary facilities equipment, focusing on :
  • Mechanical Systems such Chillers, HVAC, Process Exhaust, CDA, & Process Vacuum.
  • Cleanroom Systems such as MAU, FFUs, Pressurization, Temp/Humidity Control, AMC Filters.
• Cleanroom Certification and Compliance. Lead the certification of Cleanroom spaces (ISO 4 to ISO 6/7 zones). Manage air balancing and laminar flow.
• Precision Environmental Control: Ensure cleanroom fit up meets stringent semiconductor tolerances for temperature, humidity, room pressure, particles, AMC, unwanted outgassing, & ESD.
• Review contractor design, submittals, P&IDs, 3D BIM models, and technical specifications to ensure alignment with SOITEC standards and system owners, local regulation, loss prevention requirements (International standards) and operational reliability goals.
• Develop and Implement Energy-Saving Strategies for new installation.
• Lead coordination meeting and communication with respective stakeholders including contractors, system owners, top management, and other involve stakeholders to ensure alignments on plan, conflicts management, and executions.
• Lead management of necessary documents including drawing, BIMS, and software programs.
• Ensuring completion of punch list and defect list items.

Hook Up system ownership:

• Coordinate tool hookup packages & preparations, including Utility Connection Points (UCP), Point of Use (POU) regulation, and utility line sizing for incoming process tools.
• Design and execute the cabling, lateral piping and ducting connections from main utility headers (Electrical, IT network, CDA, Exhaust, UPW, Gases, Chemicals, PCW, & PVAC) to specific tool interface points.
• Coordination with system owners (Facilities, Equipment, and Production) prior to planning and execution of hookup to minimize interruption to production, delay, and defects.

Expansion projects:

• Study & constantly review capacity sufficient for up to 5 years look ahead and improvement / expansion plan.
• Support and lead future facilities system expansion and renovation.

Task & Assignments not limited to the above:

• To undertake assignments / projects on top of the above specified roles and specific period just to cover other on leave engineer.

Requirements & qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Facilities Management or a related discipline..

Relevant Experience:

• Minimum 2 years, experience in semiconductor cleanroom management.
• Minimum 2 years, experience as M&E Facilities Engineer in a semiconductor plant.
• Hands-on experience with semiconductor tool hookup design, construction management, and tool sign-off procedures would be an advantage.

Technical / Job Knowledge:

• Familiar with semiconductor M&E systems.
• Familiarity with Facilities Management Control Systems (FMCS), PLC/SCADA architecture, and variable speed drive control loops.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, 3D BIM models (Revit/Navisworks), and CAD layouts.
• Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
• Knowledge of MS Words, Excel is mandatory.
