Job description

- Develop a deep understanding of design specifications based on customer requirements, organizational goals, and business strategies. Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards through simulations/modeling to support design concepts.

- Create and update design specification sheets based on mechanical design, and distribute them to relevant teams. Develop system architecture considering mechanical design, flow charts, and control system requirements specified by the customer, with an emphasis on optimized design for manufacturing, cost, quality, and safety.

- Initiate and conduct internal design reviews to share and explain completed modules with other departments.

- Conduct design reviews with customers based on project schedules.

- Revise designs and documentation based on internal and external reviews.

- Create wiring diagrams for control panels and field wiring, and obtain approval from the department manager.

- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for panels and sub-panels according to the design schedule.

- Generate drawing release files and send drawings for panel and field wiring quotations.

- Send out standard part lists for quotations based on BOM.

- Receive quotations, compare prices, and prepare a comparison spreadsheet.

- Raise Purchase Requests (PR), obtain department manager approval, and forward to the Purchasing department for negotiations and ordering.

- Prepare offline PLC/PC programs for panels based on design requirements.

- Make necessary modifications, update designs and drawings, and obtain approval from the department manager.

- Release revised drawings to wiring and assembly teams.

- Support panel and field wiring teams as needed.

- Configure PLC I/O, set up device drivers, and perform I/O and wiring integrity checks.

- Set up and debug PLC/PC programs.

- Complete all activities according to the project schedule.

- Maintain quality standards while staying informed of relevant technologies and best practices, and adhere to company policies, and customer and safety standards.

- Develop, train, and mentor junior engineers, guide technical direction, and serve as a technical liaison with customers.
