A leading company in automation technology seeks an experienced engineer to handle mechanical design tasks. This role involves developing specifications, conducting design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers while adhering to quality standards and project deadlines. Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background and a passion for creating innovative solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Develop a deep understanding of design specifications based on customer requirements, organizational goals, and business strategies. Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards through simulations and modeling to support design concepts.
· Develop and update design specification sheets based on mechanical design, and distribute them to relevant teams. Develop system architecture based on mechanical design, flow charts, and other control system requirements specified by the customer, considering optimized design for manufacturing, cost, quality, and safety.
· Initiate and conduct internal design reviews to share and explain completed modules with other departments.
· Initiate and conduct design reviews with customers based on project schedules.
· Revise designs and documents based on internal and external reviews.
· Create wiring diagrams for control panels and field wiring, and obtain approval from the department manager.
· Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for various panels and sub-panels based on the design schedule.
· Prepare drawing release files and send out drawings for panel and field wiring quotations.
· Send out standard part lists for quotations based on BOM and compare quotations to make price comparisons.
· Raise Purchase Requests (PR) and obtain approval from the department manager, then send to the Purchasing department for negotiation and ordering.
· Prepare offline PLC/PC programs for panels based on design requirements, make necessary modifications, and get approval from the department manager.
· Release revised drawings to wiring and assembly teams and support them as needed.
· Carry out PLC I/O configuration, network device setup, and perform I/O and wiring integrity checks.
· Set up and debug PLC/PC programs.
· Complete all activities according to the project schedule.
· Maintain quality standards while keeping up-to-date with relevant technologies and best practices, and adhere to company policies, customer standards, and safety regulations.
· Develop, train, and mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and act as a liaison between customers and the company.
