Job description

Position Overview

The Programme Officer will work closely with the senior leadership at ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR), supporting the day-to-day management of internal operations and programmes. The role involves coordinating with volunteers, managing external stakeholders, and ensuring smooth execution of IRR events, backend processes and activities. This position will report to the Head of Operations and collaborate with senior volunteer leaders to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the board.

Key Responsibilities
1. Volunteer Management
  • Plan and execute long-term and short term programs at IRR ensuring effective workload management.
  • Oversee the induction, training, and retention of volunteers for various activities and events.
  • Manage the volunteer database, track program milestones and other key indicators of progress at IRR.
2. Operational and Backend Support
  • Assist in day-to-day operational matters for IRR, including responding to donors, volunteers and other stakeholders.
  • Periodically update and maintain the tech platform for data management, impact tracking and reporting
  • Maintain accountability for the effective execution of all operational matters, ensuring smooth backend operations.
3. Event and Project Management
  • Support in executing key IRR events and activities throughout the year, coordinating with volunteers, internal and external stakeholders, wherever required.
  • Take complete ownership of some of IRR’s new initiatives right from ideation to execution, leveraging the expertise of senior leadership as well as some of the lead volunteers.
4. Stakeholder Management
  • Support by providing backend support for grant applications and fundraising events.
  • Work to create synergies between workstreams within IRR to strengthen the charity’s overall impact.
  • Assist senior leadership in presenting updates and progress reports at board meetings.
5. Impact Measurement and Reporting
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of IRR’s programs through data and reports.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to enhance IRR’s social impact.
Key Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in social sciences, development studies, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in social impact, program management, or community work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for social justice, inclusion, and community empowerment.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and managing digital communication platforms. Working knowledge of any ERP software will be an advantage
