Join a leading non-profit organization as a Programme Executive, where you will support vulnerable families in transforming their homes into safe living spaces. Your role involves project management, teamwork, and community engagement, all while upholding Habitat’s mission and values. Project HomeWorks assists vulnerable persons and families in Singapore who require support in transforming their homes into safe and sanitary living spaces. As a Programme Executive*, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of Project HomeWorks. Your responsibilities may include assisting homeowners in assessing their home environment and identifying their specific needs, coordinating and facilitating home improvement projects, which may involve a combination of services such as pest control, painting, intensive cleaning, and home organization. You will collaborate with a team of staff and volunteers to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services to homeowners. A part of this position’s job scope also includes managing overseas projects.
*This is an entry-level position.
Responsibilities:
i) Project HomeWorks (local):
· Liaising and communicating with referring partners
o Work with social workers from various agencies (Family Service Centre, Active Ageing Centre, Hospital, etc), to assist the beneficiaries and making sure that there is a long-term plan in place for a sustainable change and providing a safe and sanitary homes for the beneficiaries to live in.
· Evaluate home conditions and co-creating solutions
o Evaluate the conditions of the homes (clutter, pest infestation, cleanliness, and willingness of the homeowner) through joint home visit with referring partner and evaluate if the beneficiaries need our help.
o Work with homeowner to create solutions through discussion and agreement on what needs to be done to make sure that the home is safe and sanitary for beneficiaries to live in.
· Equipping and inspiring volunteers
o Work closely with project teams and volunteers to ensure successful project implementation. This may also involve volunteer recruitment and training.
· Project Management
o Plan and coordinate projects, ensuring they align with established timelines and budgets.
o Managing project logistics and operations, by packing necessary equipment for projects, ensuring equipment functionality.
o Documenting project details and expenses.
ii) Global Village/Special Project (Overseas based project)
· Project Management
o Liaising and communicating with Habitat partners on proposals, volunteer itinerary/budget and all necessary documents as per SOP.
o Manage report submissions to regional and international counterparts
o May travel overseas to oversee/audit the project
· Volunteer management
o Work closely with project teams and volunteers to ensure successful project implementation. This may also involve volunteer recruitment and training.
o Manage end-to-end volunteers
o Ensure timely updates on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal systems to facilitate data extraction and reporting.
o Manage digital document organisation.
o Schedule various volunteer programme sessions, and conduct team briefing/presentation
o Manage and prepare internal documents, invoices and receipts
o Compile feedback to improve internal processes
o Able to manage emergency case
A successful candidate would be
· Possesses strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage beneficiaries, volunteers and partners
· A self-motivated and mature individual who thrives in a team environment and demonstrates strong initiative
· Maintains a reasonable level of physical fitness as the role may involve some physically demanding tasks (Eg. Packing and moving logistics)
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and email communication
· Fluent in written and spoken English
· The job involves interaction with beneficiaries who may only speak Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects. Knowledge of any of such basic conversational language is preferred.
· Possession of a valid Class 3/3A driving license
· Available to work on some weekends (1-2 Saturdays per month)
