Job summary
A community service organization in Singapore seeks an experienced individual to support special needs students at the APSN Student Care Centre. The role involves supervising activities, maintaining facilities, and ensuring student safety and well-being. Candidates should have a Diploma in community and social services or equivalent, along with good communication skills and a proactive attitude. This is a shift work position with various shift hours.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience in social services.
- First Aid (CPR & AED) and WSQ Basic Food Hygiene certifications are advantages.
- WSQ certification is an advantage (WSQ Introductory Student Care Centre).

Work requirement
- Location: APSN Student Care Centre (Ang Mo Kio)
- Shift work required. Shift hours are as follows:
7am to 4pm
7.30am to 4.30pm
8am to 5pm
8:30am to 6:30pm
Responsibilities
- Support activities of special needs students and/or children in the Centre.
- Support and supervise students' activities in the Centre and engage them actively during operating hours.
- Assist in maintaining the SCC facility.
- Collaborate with the Centre Supervisor for smooth operations.
- Assist in meeting student enrolment targets and profit goals.
- Support children in their academic, social, personal hygiene, music, art, and motor skills development.
- Conduct weekly inspections to ensure compliance with APSN/regulatory (MSF) requirements.
- Assist in selecting instructional materials and teaching aids.
- Ensure food is administered following proper handling and hygiene practices per HACCP standards.
- Work with the Centre Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of each child.
- Observe children for signs of ill health or emotional disturbance and evaluate progress.
- Maintain a safe, conducive, and engaging environment.
- Assist with student enrolment, expenses, manpower, and operations.
- Engage children and perform classroom duties as per APSN curriculum.
- Supervise activities and report to school leaders on SCC matters as required by the Ministry of Education.
- Coordinate with parents and teaching staff regarding behavioral or learning issues and suggest appropriate interventions.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience in social services; entry-level candidates are welcome.
- Preferably with Diploma in community and social services or equivalent.
- WSQ certification is an advantage (WSQ Introductory Student Care Centre).
- First Aid (CPR & AED) and WSQ Basic Food Hygiene certifications are advantages.
