MSE invites applications for Associate Professor (Practice/Tenure-Track/Tenured) and Full Professor (Practice/Tenured) positions. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality education, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum innovation. The successful candidate will be appointed at a level commensurate with their qualification, experience and professional standing.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, with a strong emphasis on practice-oriented and industry-relevant education
• Lead and contribute to curriculum development, including the design of innovative pedagogical approaches and experiential learning initiatives
• Foster strong linkages with industry, including developing collaborations, facilitating internships, and supporting industry-sponsored projects
• Contribute to applied research, translational activities, and collaborative projects with industry and research partners,including participation in externally funded initiatives where appropriate
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including those involved in industry-linked projects
• Contribute to departmental, university, and professional service, including outreach and engagement activities
• A PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputable university
• Substantial experience in teaching and research
• Demonstrated record of academic and/or research leadership within the professional community
• Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop early-career researchers and/or doctoral students
• Experience in leading or contributing to cross-disciplinary research initiatives and collaborations
• Strong understanding of the priorities, frameworks, and strategies of major research funding bodies
• Established an international network with leading academic, industrial, and research organisations
