Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a seasoned assembly supervisor to lead the production team on the shop floor, ensuring safe, efficient assembly aligned with customer specs and delivery targets. You will coordinate daily activities and optimize resources.

The role requires at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity, strong problem solving and communication skills, and compliance with quality and EHS standards. This on-site position offers growth and a focus on lean improvements.

Qualifications

• Nitec/Higher Nitec in Engineering or equivalent course.
• Problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily assembly activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications and documented procedures.
• Oversee equipment assembly, alignment, testing, inspection, integration, troubleshooting, and product release activities.
• Plan, assign, and coordinate work to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
• Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of assembly tools and special equipment.
• Distribute jobs and balance workload effectively across the production team.
• Comply to team objectives, goals, and KPIs.
• Monitor individual and team performance and provide guidance or corrective actions when required.
• Ensure all shopfloor activities comply with approved work instructions and documented procedures.
• Monitor quality performance and initiate corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.
• Monitor and report production performance, progress, efficiency, and delivery metrics.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting within the shop floor control system.
• Enforce workplace safety rules and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
• Promote good housekeeping practices to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
