Job summary

Baker Hughes Singapore Pte is seeking a Production Planner to orchestrate production activities, balance schedules with materials, and coordinate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams. You will drive adherence to the production plan while optimizing cost and capacity utilization.

Ideal candidates bring a technical engineering degree, at least 3 years in energy or oil & gas, and hands-on ERP experience (SAP/Oracle). Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in energy or oil & gas.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with lean Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Create production schedule guiding operations to meet customer requirements while minimizing costs.
  • Manage daily and mid-range planning to hit project due dates with cost controls.
  • Coordinate with Material Planning and suppliers to meet schedule needs.
  • Monitor progress and report production adherence to schedule.
  • Release and prioritize work orders based on material availability.
  • Identify deviations and support actions to meet delivery targets.
  • Escalate risks related to capacity, manpower, material shortages, or equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to maximize value.

Job description

Production Planner:

The Production Planner is responsible for planning, monitoring, controlling, and coordinating production activities to ensure manufacturing output meets the production plan, delivery commitments, and operational targets while optimizing cost, quality, and capacity utilization.

Responsibilities are:
  • Create Production Schedule as guidance to Operation Team to prepare the manufacturing shop to be consistent with customer requirements while minimizing inventory and costs.
  • Manage daily and middle range planning / scheduling to achieve project due date while maintaining productivity cost controls.
  • Work with Material Planner in scheduling of components with vendors and suppliers to meet Production Schedule needs.
  • Monitor production progress and regular report and update production adherence again Production Schedule.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Material Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth execution.
  • Release, prioritize, and control Work Order based on schedule and material availability. Following up till Work Order closing in system.
  • Identify production deviations and support recovery actions to meet delivery and output targets.
  • Escalate risks related to capacity, manpower, material shortages, or equipment constraints.
  • Assists in executing continuous improvement projects to maximize value.
Requirements for Production Planner
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in technical Engineering
  • Have 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within the energy sector and reporting roles, in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics roles,
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry preferred,
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.),
  • Have familiarity with record-to-report roles and participation in change management projects,
  • Have good problem-solving skills with eye for detail and analytical behavior, ideally knowledge in lean Six Sigma methodology,
  • Have ability to independently investigate, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution to issues without prior precedent,
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills,
  • Ability to work independently (self-sufficient with minimal supervision),
  • Good understanding of production planning and supply coordination.
