Job summary

A leading TCM manufacturing company is seeking a dedicated Production Manager to oversee the complete management of TCM manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring compliance with Singapore's Medicines Act, optimizing production processes, and leading a dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in TCM manufacturing, a strong understanding of GMP processes, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with regulatory bodies. Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in managing TCM production.
  • 3 years in senior leadership roles (Plant Manager, Production Director).
  • Familiar with GMP certification processes for Chinese Proprietary Medicines.

Job description

  1. Take full responsibility for the management of TCM (Chinese Proprietary Medicine) manufacturing, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s Medicines Act and relevant regulations on TCM production;

  2. Maintain effective communication with regulatory bodies (e.g., HSA) and industry associations, and handle compliance matters in a timely manner;

  3. Oversee the formulation manufacturing processes, optimize production techniques, and ensure product quality;

  4. Manage the production team, including production planning, equipment maintenance, and shop floor operations, to achieve production capacity and business targets;

  5. Lead compliance audits for production and respond to regulatory inspections, including GMP audits by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA);

  6. Responsible for process validation, cleaning validation, and equipment qualification activities;

  7. Analyze and report production data, and drive continuous improvement in production management systems;

  8. Lead the production team, including training, performance evaluation, and manpower allocation.

  9. Skills Requirements:

    Proficient in TCM manufacturing processes (e.g., herbal processing, extraction, preparation of pills/tablets);

    Familiar with Singaporean and international TCM regulations, such as those from the HSA and WHO Traditional Medicine Guidelines;

    Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, capable of liaising with regulatory authorities and multinational clients;

    Strong risk management awareness, with the ability to handle legal and compliance matters independently.

  10. Qualifications & Requirements

    Educational Background:

    Bachelor's degree or above in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field;

    Holder of relevant qualifications recognized by the Singapore Pharmacy Council (SPC) (e.g., Registered Pharmacist).

    Work Experience:

    Familiar with GMP certification processes and standards for Chinese Proprietary Medicines (CPM), such as the "Singapore Guidance Notes on the Registration of CPM".

    Minimum 8 years of experience in managing the production of CPM or traditional medicines, including 3 years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Plant Manager, Production Director);

    Prior experience as a Legal Representative or Compliance Officer in a pharmaceutical company is preferred.
