A leading company in food manufacturing is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee Halal and Non-Halal production operations. The role involves managing a production team, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and optimizing production efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a diploma and at least 5 years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to join our team for Halal and Non-Halal production operations. He/she oversees the overall performance of the production team and operations. In addition to supervising production output levels and maintaining optimal production raw materials inventory, the manager is responsible for establishing new production standards and factory operational guidelines, as well as supporting research and development initiatives. This position reports to the Head of Processing.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage and motivate the team of production workers to meet the daily production targets for Halal &/or Non-Halal production operations.
2. Ensure compliance with food hygiene policies and procedures for the high volume production operations.
3. Manage non-compliance quality cases
4. Monitor overall production output levels, manage inventory robustly, track stock levels and conduct regular stocktaking
5. Constantly seek new ways to improve the production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
6. Conduct daily briefing to production workers at the beginning of the work day such as communication about production targets, quality and safety aspects etc
7. Ensure an adequate supply of ingredients for food preparation
8. Ensure workplace safety compliance in the production areas
9. Manage manpower planning optimally to achieve production efficiency
10. Oversee the hiring and training of food production personnel and ensure all personnel are well trained
11. Work closely with R&D Chef to develop new products or improve existing products for increased sales
12. Plan and organise production schedules, minimise downtime and maximise efficiency of production equipment and machinery, estimate costs and prepare budgets to ensure workflow meets the company’s objectives
13. Work closely with management in strategic planning to improve business operations
14. Work closely with inter-departments to achieve company’s goals
Requirements:
Minimum Diploma or its equivalent
Minimum 5 years proven experience as production manager in food manufacturing industry
Knowledge of ISO22000 or HACCP will be an advantage
Good understanding of food cost analysis
Familiar with SFA Food regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Proficient in Microsoft office applications
5.5 days workweek (Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Saturday 8.30 am to 12.30 pm)
