A leading chemical manufacturing company in Singapore seeks an experienced Plant Manager. This role is responsible for plant operations, managing a team of 30-50, production planning, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in engineering and have 12-15 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, specifically in Rubber, Polymer, or Petrochemical plants.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accountable for plant operations and performance in accordance with production goals
· Manage Team of 30-50 people
· Oversee production planning and material flow to meet daily and monthly production targets
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production processes to optimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
· Foster continuous improvement and operational excellence mindset within the team
· Endorse high-risk job activities in the plant, and ensure compliance with HSE standards
· Adhere to safety and regulatory requirements
· Recruit and train, and develop Shift team members and Production engineers
· Cross functional collaborations with Maintenance, Technical/ Technology and Safety
· Provide guidance to Shift team during plant troubleshooting to troubleshoot process deviations and minimize equipment downtime.
· Analyse monthly production data to generate monthly report
· Achieves loss minimization by implementing procedural countermeasures and conduct routine investigation to evaluate the causes, and recommend measures to improve quality of work
· Develops plan for Process start-ups/ Shutdowns/ Turnaround event.
· Support for MHI/ HAZOP studies and MOC
· SMC role during emergency response, Crisis Management events.
Key Requirements:
· Degree in Engineering (Chemical or other equivalent) with least 12-15 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing facilities.
· Production Experience in Rubber, Polymer or Petrochemical plants will be preferred.
· Supervisory experiences in leading a team of engineers, shift leaders and technicians.
· Excellent Leadership, Planning, People management & Problem-Solving skills
· Advance Coaching & Mentoring Skill to technician and Undergraduates
· Preferred Experience of Green Field Start-up, Operating Procedure development
· Good written & verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of Singapore Regulations & Industry HSE practices & Process Safety
· Prior experience in Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, and continual improvement programs are preferred.
