Production Engineer (Office Hours, Chemical Plant)
Job Description:

- Working Hours: Weekdays, 8am to 430pm
- Transport from Jurong East MRT
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to play a key role in the launch of our cutting-edge site, scheduled for the second half of 2026. This role offers the chance to lead the development of production technology, optimize processes, and ensure top-tier product quality. As part of the commissioning and startup team, you will be involved in designing and optimizing our systems, with opportunities for training alongside experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain process control documents, procedures, and operation guidelines.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Oversee process control systems (DCS, SIS) and data logging systems.
- Support trial runs for new products, processes, and equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies to optimize yield, energy conservation, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical support for packaging processes and address customer complaints from a technical perspective.
- Lead safety assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) and collaborate with the HSE team.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, debottlenecking, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Coordinate with technical teams for plant modifications, detailed engineering designs, and commissioning activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering, Masters degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering or production experience in the chemical industry.
- Experience with chemical process simulations (e.g., polymerization, distillation).
- Familiarity with polymer extrusion processes.
- Knowledge of DCS programming and PID control tuning.
- Experience with lean manufacturing methods (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Proficiency in Excel, including VBA and macros.
- Experience in leading CapEx projects and process safety assessments (MOC, HAZOP, LOPA, etc.).
