Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Industrial Transfer and Capabilities Development

· Participate in the transfer-specific activities and coordinating the transfer of product equipment and maintenance procedures, which involve:

o Technical Document Writing/Review/Correction

o Coordinate and provide training plans for technician

o Performing First Article Inspection and Shop validation

o Commission Test Benches and fixtures

o Assist in performing self-assessments, engineering studies, build up justification plan

· Manage and support products transfers

· Validate and ensure all the required test equipment, knowledge, Documentation, Tools and engineering requirement are properly transferred

· Works on collaborative project teams in conjunction with Industrialisation engineers and project stakeholders

· Manages own time on projects and departmental goals, milestones and budgets

· Technical responsibilities include system engineering, analysis, system integration and verification

· Review and analyze technical documentations on maintenance processes

· Monitor testing and analyze data to verify performance of the product to customer and design specifications

· Evaluate engineering drawings and schematics

· Testing and troubleshooting of hydro-electro-mechanical sub-assemblies

· Help to gather market data, investment requirements, perform feasibility studies

· Support maintenance plans

Customer Support

· Be actively involved in the customer support plan for Group and partners OEMs in the Asia Pacific region

· Follow product reliability. Analyse In-Service Experience for timely feedback to OEMs: Devise reliability reports, analyse Shop Findings, piece parts consumption, productivity, etc…

· Investigate thoroughly and expeditiously on customer technical complaints related to repairs performed on civil aircraft components and related items. Liaise with workshop on matters relating to the interpretation of repair and overhaul requirements. Recommend actions and repair procedure updates as a result of investigations carried out.

· Communicate valued expertise to customers, and act as the interface between the OEMs and Asia-Pacific Airlines on technical issues, complaints or investigation requests to exceed customer satisfaction

· Manage technical disputes

· Follow up on technical improvement to customers

· Manage customer and supplier relations across the region

· Develop and draft end-user documentations and training materials

· Conduct training sessions for in-house teams as well as external customers

Repair Operations

· Lead repair workshops and customers support operations for SAFRAN Group and partners OEMs in Asia-Pacific

· Support a team of technicians, planners, supply chain officers and sales executives to deliver short Shop Processing Time

· Follow up repair orders to ensure systematic good performance and profitability

· Monitor Key Performance Indicators and report to selected OEMs

· Attend Technical Review meetings

· Support existing repair capabilities by solving any issues or discrepancies that may arise, in order to resume activity as soon as possible.

· Assist the Lead for Bench Maintenance on the workshop level

· Help sourcing for material, suppliers, 3rd parties, alternatives

· Establish calibration requirements

· Take a pro-active approach, initiate creative solutions to maintenance issues and assist the workshops in implementing best practices, Continuous Improvement, LEAN operations, cost reductions and applying lessons-learned from previous or bench-marked experiences

· Conduct investigation and write report to customers

· Ensure that communication between all stakeholders – HQ, OEMs, Workshops, Operation, QA, Sales, CI, Supply Chain, Customers, and Suppliers - is optimum.

· Report to management. Flow down relevant and timely information.

Assist the Senior Manager in managing the Engineering Department and other PSEs :

· Mentor and supervise team of Support Engineers responsible for the technical performance of repair cells, and any other related technical activities

· Resolve technical related problems as they arise in the production areas including the liaison with Operations to ensure cost effective and expeditious solutions.

· Apply and update Engineering Procedures. Maintain all Engineering department records

· Lead staff in implementing department objectives. Implement department objectives.

· Supervise interns and apprentices.

· Develop team building.

· Ensure that communication between all stakeholders - Workshops, Operation, QA, Sales, CI, Supply Chain, Customer Support Representatives, Customers, and Suppliers - is optimum.

· Monitor the department’s Key Performance Indicators

  • Actively participate and contribute to HSE initiatives & Corporate HSE programs and in HSE risk communications & mitigations.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

· Be a driving force in the Continuous Improvement and Innovation initiatives like Participative Innovation, Company Improvement projects, ONE SAFRAN and Green Belts Improvement

· Spearhead the QRQC, SQCDPI, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, ONE SAFRAN methodologies to be best in class.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

a) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering

b) 5 years of Engineering experience, Projects and Program Transfer, Technical Support Repair Operations

c) Proficient in product support and trouble shooting procedures

d) Experience within aerospace industry a plus but not required. Must be familiar with technical support environment, processes, and manuals

e) Effective Project Management and interpersonal skills

f) Experience in calibration requirements and procedures

g) Working knowledge of the Aviation Airworthiness requirements like Part 145 is advantageous

h) Sound knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000 and AS9110

i) Excellent attitude, good team player, motivated, driven, committed, reliable. Take ownership of the projects

j) Ability to multi task in a dynamic environment

k) Excellent communications skills. Well versed in written and spoken English

l) Able to think ahead, process data, make decisions and solve problems.

Special Skills/Knowledge Required:

· Ability to read and interpret circuits schematics.

· Knowledge of Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing standards

· Knowledge in design of wiring, cabling, shielding, noise management and electrical packaging.

· Working knowledge of computer hardware and interfacing; and communication protocols.

· Working knowledge of various sources of electrical power: batteries, DC power, power budgeting, and 3-phase AC.

· Electronics test equipment and tools (oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.)

· Familiar with civil avionics digital interfaces

Tools/Equipment Used:

· Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Points and MS Project.

· Basic experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP tools would be a plus.
