Job summary

GTS Consulting in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Manager, Product Owner to lead Master Data Management initiatives and drive digital transformation across shipping operations.

You will bridge business needs with technology, engaging diverse stakeholders and delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Qualifications

• CSPO certification is mandatory.
• Experience in maritime/shipping is essential.
• Minimum 5 years in complex Agile/Scrum projects or digital transformation.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and related processes.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Proven backlog management, stakeholder engagement and process re-engineering.

Responsibilities

• Drive MDM product initiatives aligned with business goals.
• Gather, analyse and translate requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Define roadmaps and manage backlogs to deliver initiatives on time.
• Collaborate with business, IT, engineering and QA to enable solutions.
• Lead process re-engineering and transformation to boost efficiency.
• Oversee project scope, milestones and UAT to meet expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & MDM: Drive Master Data Management (MDM) product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Business Requirements & Analysis: Engage stakeholders to gather, analyse and translate business needs into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Product Roadmap & Backlog Management: Define product roadmaps, prioritise requirements and manage product backlogs to ensure timely delivery of business-critical initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the key liaison between business users, IT, Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to facilitate seamless solution development and implementation.
• Digital Transformation & Process Improvement: Lead business process re-engineering, change management and transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Project Delivery & UAT: Oversee project scope, delivery milestones, stakeholder dependencies and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Product Adoption: Drive stakeholder alignment, manage expectations and promote successful product adoption to maximise business value.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is mandatory.
• Experience in the maritime / shipping industry is essential
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in complex Agile / Scrum software projects, Product Ownership or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience or good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) systems and related business processes.
• Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Proven experience in product backlog management, business requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement and business process re-engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across different functions and seniority levels.
• Proactive, adaptable and self-driven, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
