A leading company in the electronics distribution sector seeks a Product Manager in Singapore. The role encompasses sales accountability, team management, and supplier negotiations. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and have a minimum of 3 years in product marketing, with experience in electronics being advantageous. This position offers the opportunity to drive strategic sales initiatives while managing and guiding a team.
This role will be located in Singapore, working on-site at our office located at Expo (DT35/CG1) fully sheltered from the MRT.
JOB PURPOSE
The Product Manager is responsible for sales and profit accountability for a class of products. They interact daily with suppliers including negotiating pricing, business reviews, promotion activity and continuous development building. The Product Manager handles elevations and significant business opportunities. They are responsible for training, motivating and managing a team of Marketers. They also oversee all quoting activities, analyze ‘strategic quotes’ and perform statistical analysis of daily/monthly reports. The Product Manager also prepares and negotiates product purchases and costs to maximize the class revenue and margin, and they play a key role in worldwide inventory management.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drive sales and maximize margin through inventory management & quote strategies
Train, motivate and manage a team of Marketers
Develop employees through performance management
Problem solving / troubleshooting
Build and maintain supplier relations
Oversee all quoting activity
JOB CONTENT
Responsible for achieving sales targets and goals for a specific product group
Responsible for a defined Product Marketing set of classes
Management of Marketers
Create, implement and monitor action plan for focus suppliers within the branches
Maintain and improve key suppliers’ relationship
Responsible for SLA on timely completion of quotes
Responsible to make sure that Product Group develops proficiency in aggressively quoting to win key opportunities from Sales branches
Maintain proper follow-up systems
REQUIREMENTS
A Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
Minimum 3 years in product marketing or equivalent.
Experience in electronics industry experience within distribution, component manufacturers and/or EMS companies is highly advantageous but not a must.
Must be able to travel when required
