GovTech is looking for a Product Manager to own and drive key product initiatives within the AI Programme. Our mission is to transform the public sector from "digitally enabled" to "AI-augmented," building a suite of high-impact AI products and shared capabilities that empower government agencies to innovate at scale.

As a Product Manager, you will take ownership of a defined product or feature area, driving it from conception through to launch. You will work closely with cross-functional teams — including engineering, design, data scientist and agency stakeholders — to define requirements, prioritise features, and ensure delivery stays on track. You will balance user needs, market demands, and business objectives to deliver meaningful AI-powered value to public officers.

[What you will be working on]

Product Strategy & Feature Planning

• Contribute to and help shape the product strategy for your assigned product or feature area, ensuring alignment with the broader AI Programme goals and national digital ambitions.
• Evaluate and plan features informed by user research, customer feedback, market trends, competitor review, and internal feedback loops.
• Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the product from both a technical and market perspective.

Product Execution & Delivery

• Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for your assigned area, from discovery and problem definition through to deployment.
• Balance speed, quality, and simplicity in product delivery, consulting with engineers and designers on implementation details and understanding the trade-offs involved.
• Make data-driven decisions on prioritisation — leveraging data to validate or refine ideas before development, and recommending experiments based on evidence.
• Ensure AI interventions within your area are safe, performant, and meaningfully integrated into the daily workflows of public officers.

User Engagement & Stakeholder Management

• Engage with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into clear, actionable product requirements for engineering teams.
• Regularly interact with stakeholders to balance user needs, market demands, and business objectives, ensuring solutions are practical and user-centric.
• Address issues and conflicts constructively, escalating appropriately when needed.

Ownership & Continuous Improvement

• Independently own your assigned products, demonstrating initiative and accountability throughout.
• Proactively identify and address issues with minimal guidance, knowing when to seek appropriate support.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes or outcomes within your own work and recommend next steps to the team.
• Adapt to shifting priorities independently, keeping focus on tasks that deliver the greatest expected business value.

Team & Culture

• Contribute actively to team culture by collaborating effectively with peers and stakeholders to ensure tasks are executed well.
• Share knowledge, resources, and learnings — including both successes and failures — openly to support team success.
• Suggest improvements that enhance team effectiveness and contribute to a culture of experimentation and user-centric design.

[What we are looking for]

• Product Ownership: Demonstrated experience owning a product or feature area end-to-end, with a track record of driving features from ideation to launch.
• Analytical Rigour: Ability to make data-driven decisions — using data to validate ideas, prioritise features, and measure impact.
• Technical Collaboration: Comfort engaging with engineers and designers on implementation details, understanding trade-offs between speed, quality, and simplicity.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams product teams and agency stakeholders, translating operational needs into clear product requirements.
• AI Curiosity: A working understanding of AI/ML concepts (e.g. generative AI, LLMs) and genuine interest in how AI can improve public sector workflows.
• Initiative & Adaptability: A proactive mindset — able to identify issues, recommend improvements, and adapt to changing priorities independently.
• Platform Product Thinking (nice to have): Familiarity with platform or shared-capability product thinking — understanding how a product or feature can be designed to serve multiple teams or use cases, rather than solving for a single point solution.
