Primary Details
Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe purpose of this role is to drive the strategic development, improvement and maintenance of products and services, ensuring alignment with business and underwriting goals. This involves monitoring market trends, comparing products, wordings and value propositions, applying profitability best practices, tracking and complying with legal and regulatory requirements and obligations.

The Opportunity:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer needs, and opportunities for innovation on products and services.
  • Drive the development of new products and improvement of existing products to support the company's business and underwriting goals

Your new role:

  • Create and manage product roadmaps
  • Oversee the prototyping, testing and validation of new products or features before launch
  • Monitor product performance and generate actionable insight to support data driven decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including distribution, underwriting, pricing, IT, Operations, Finance and Data & Analytics
  • Assess potential risks associated with new product launch and product refresh and develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation

About you:

  • General insurance product knowledge and experience in product development
  • Strong financial and underwriting knowledge
  • Strong critical thinker, communicator and presenter
  • Proven experience of working with senior executives and multiple stakeholders
  • Significant project management experience.
  • Experience with process design, evaluation and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Insurance certification e.g. CII or related professional certification.
