Job summary

An international chocolate company in Singapore is seeking a Product Expert & Technical Application Lead. This role involves leading product development, providing technical solutions, and engaging with customers across Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate has a degree in Food Technology or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in product development within the food industry. Skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and SAP are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in product development or applications in the food industry.
  • Fluent in Business English; local SEA languages are an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of chocolate and related applications is a plus.

Job description

About the Role

  • This Product Expert & Technical Application Lead for SEA role executes the activities within Product Expert function which is to provide technical solution. Then, consolidates and shares in-depth knowledge within CI&TS community.
  • Coordinate and support factory team on the commercialization and technical related topics link to their projects.
  • Be the technical lead to customers or commercial team; coordinate in customer engagement activities. Closer to the customer or market for faster response rate to drive business growth.
  • Coordinate and liaise with sourcing and suppliers on new raw and packaging materials for ensuring supply as well as cost optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the end-to-end new product development process, from getting the technical brief directly from customers/commercial, drive the lab sample development up to scale up industrial trial with CSD team for commercial delivery.
  • He/she also involves in the application study and prototypes development, coordinating with internal stakeholders (commercial/marketing/customer PD) on the concepts making for customer engagement activities such as Inspiration Day
  • Recommend the right product that fit customer’s end application.
  • Provide technical support and organize product training to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • SEA, KR, ID - Chocolate FM, GM, Cocoa
  • Regional trials and sample coordination
  • Cross country support for production plant - SG01
  • Drive and coordinate on cross country customer engagement activities

About You

  • Min. Bachelor Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry or other equivalent background
  • Min 2 years’ experience in product development / product applications / process in the food industry.
  • Fluent Business English, SEA local languages such as Mandarin, Thai and etc are an added advantage
  • About 10 - 20% travel is required for customer meetings, in the region of SEA, Indonesia, South Korea.
  • Good knowledge of compound and chocolate and related application such as confectionery, ice cream, bakery are an added advantage
  • Experience in Project Management and Stakeholder Management
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of working tools (MS Office, Salesforce, SAP)
  • Able to guide and mentoring junior and/or application technician.
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Experience in Sales or client interaction
