Job summary

HUD is seeking a Product Engineer to translate cross-cutting product problems into shipped experiences across its platform and marketplace. You’ll collaborate with product, design, engineering, research, and GTM teams to reduce friction for environment creators and research teams.

The role blends product judgment, interaction design, and full-stack engineering to move from early user conversations to production software with clear, dense workflows.

Qualifications

• Shipping software end-to-end from user problem to iteration.
• Strong product judgment to scope a request and trade off with incomplete info.
• Clear interaction design and high usability in complex workflows.
• Full-stack capability to build polished web interfaces and supporting services.
• Comfort with direct user conversations and qualitative data to guide shipping.
• Clear communication and collaboration with PMs, designers, engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Talk with users and internal teams to identify friction in RL environment workflows and translate findings into product priorities.
• Design, prototype, and ship product improvements across HUD's platform and marketplace from problem definition to launch.
• Make agent runs, evaluation results, reward signals, and quality feedback easier to understand through thoughtful interfaces.
• Build frontend and backend components to improve vendor onboarding, environment submission, review, and discovery for research teams.
• Use feedback and signals to refine experiences and help teams make informed tradeoffs.
